Hilisoft MIB Browser is a Simple Network Management Protocol analysis tool. Network administrators use SNMP browsers to monitor the devices that are attached to the system. This particular program is designed based on a Management Information Base compiler, which is used for parsing MIB files. Vendors of SNMP manageable devices provide the MIB files. The special feature of this browser is its 2-tree view for MIB nodes and MIB files.
The browser interface is very user friendly. The trace window displays messages between the browser and the SNMP devices. Other features include an SNMP table editor, SNMP table viewer, logging capabilities, and graphics of the queries. The SNMP messages are shown in raw hexadecimal and decoded format.
Any SNMP device on the network can be detected and monitored using the Hilisoft MIB Browser. The monitored devices can be database servers, modems, printers, routers, and switches. This program uses the following protocols: SNMPv1, SNMPv2c and SNMPv3 protocols, over the following networks: IPv4, IPv6, or IPX. Hilisoft MIB Browser 1.6 options include some of the following operations: SNMP Get, SNMP GetBulk, SNMP GetNext, and SNMP Set.
You will find similar programs that can do these operations with the same functions, but this tool is easier to use with its simple but practical graphic user interface, which makes it a good program for all network administrators.
